Dear 2020 Graduates
In this bag, you will find
A few items of which to remind-
You, of the fun times we had.
For I hope you look back at GSOTA and feel glad.
Now, as you graduate from the comfort of your cars,
Buckle up, because Mrs. O’Brien is gonna drop some bars.
I have given you a mini notebook in which to write
It’s cute and small enough to stay out of sight
Sometimes life can get tough.
But always journal your thoughts, feelings and any other stuff.
You may have an idea for an invention or a great collab
But just don’t use this to do your vocab.
I have given you two pencils from Mr. O’Brien
For all the ones you “borrowed” from me, no lyin’
Remember to be good digital citizens while online
And always, ALWAYS, try to be kind.
Yes, in high school there will be more tests
And yes, they will make you a little stressed.
You may feel like hiding your head in the sand
But remember the world is truly in your hands
Just give this ball a little squeeze
And hopefully you will pass with ease.
I have given you chocolates from Dove
Because their messages are always filled with love.
But if those are not your jam, I have given you mints.
Not just any mints, they are EMPOWERMINTS!
To remind you that in order to achieve
In yourself, you have to believe.
No matter where you may go or what you may see
I want you to come visit and to always spill the tea.
Congratulations to you all! I love each and every one of you!
~Mrs. O'Brien
