Daily Learning Objective: Students can analyze and make inferences by citing evidence from the story. 
​Unit:  Number The Stars
Standards: 
  • LAFS.6.RL.1.1 Cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. 
  • LAFS.6.RL.1.2 Determine a theme or central idea of a text and how it is conveyed through particular details; provide a summary of the text distinct from personal opinions or judgments. 
  • LAFS.6.RL.1.3 Describe how a particular story’s or drama’s plot unfolds in a series of episodes as well as how the characters respond or change as the plot moves toward a resolution. 
Warm-Up: Classroom Cereal Grammar 
Practice: Read NTS Ch. 1-2
Apply: Answer Comprehension Questions for Ch. 1-2. Answers should be written in composition notebook. 
Wrap-up: Exit Ticket: The next chapter is called "Where is Mrs. Hersch?". Make a prediction about who this may be and why she may be missing.  
​Homework:
  • Read GBC Book for at least 30 minutes. 
  • Finish any unanswered Comprehension Questions. 
  • Finish NTS Ch. 1-3 vocabulary homework (assignment found in Google Classroom & Jupiter Ed).
